“ART IN DANCE”
Our 2013 show was to have been performed at Bonington Theatre, Arnold, as with all shows since 1983. However, due to refurbishment work at Bonington Theatre, we had to relocate to Redhill School, where we held five performances. Donations were made to Clic Sergeant, Happy Days, Meningitis Trust, Streetlight Trust and Sherwood Community Association. All are registered charities.
In 2012, 8 children from this dancing school performed at the Playhouse in a professional production of Angelina Ballerina.
We perform at Arnold Carnival and Sherwood Festival in June every year, as well as at Sherwood Community Centre events
The singing group entertained customers at a Christmas event at IKEA in December 2012 and 2013
Each year we raise money for
Children in Need by taking part in the Annual Tapathon
At Sherwood Community Centre
in November 2 days after the
Children In Need television show

“LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION”
Our 2015 show was performed at Djanogly School Theatre, Sherwood Rise. This was the first time we have used Djanogly, but hope to continue to use this larger theatre in the future.
Lara Sas studied at this dancing school from the age of 4 until she was 18. Before moving on the the Musical Theatre Academy in October 2014, she was awarded two Platinum Awards by the BTDA for gaining Distinction in the Diploma in Professional Dance Practice in Modern Jazz (97%) and Tap (91%). This is the highest exam level. Previously, she had completed the final Acrobatics Exam and Advanced 1 Ballet with Distinction. Lara graduated from the Musical Theatre Academy in summer 2016, and is currently touring Italy with Erasmus Theatre, as Rizzo in Grease. We wish her every success in her Musical Theatre Career.
On 25th September 2016 it was the 40th anniversary of the dancing school. To celebrate, Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Senior students and dancers who have been with the school since its first year, went for a celebratory meal at the Petit Paris restaurant in Nottingham.
On 4/5, 11/12 March 2017, we performed our 40th Anniversary show. Our first performance was at Sherwood Community Centre’s Garden Party in June 1977, with another performance at Awsworth Village Hall a few weeks later. At that time classes were also held in Awsworth and Bulwell, and later in Langley Mill, Heanor and Hucknall, before centralising in Sherwood .
